This was our second stay at Sixpence Cottage,having visited for a weekend in June, we wanted to come back for a longer visit. We had a lovely Mon to Fri October half term break with our two dogs. The cottage was perfect, very comfy, warm and well equipped. The sun came out so we could sit outside and enjoy the garden. Pickering is a pleasant small town with coffee shops and some nice independent shops and bakeries. It is well situated for beach visits and long walks. We can’t wait to book again for Easter.
We really couldn’t of wish for a better week away, from the moment we walked in it took our breathe away, it felt so warm and cosy.
Loved how spacious it felt but still so warming, my girls had the best time, we loved every single part of it. From the beautiful sights near by, to the town centre, to coming back and lighting the fire and settling down for the night, a HUGE bed which you just melt into, its amazing. it fit me and my two daughters in, perfect for snuggles. the garden is so beautiful and relaxing it was a great exploring ground for our little sausage.
We will definitely be returning, hopefully very soon.

Amazing cottage so we’ll thought out lovely cosy beds with good quality bedding fantastic location pickering has lots to offer stunning shops and a market didn’t want to come home can’t wait to go back in December xx
Where to start? The cottage is simply beautiful with the prettiest garden to relax and enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine. Beds incredibly comfortable, bedding lovely and proper sized towels (which is a pet peeve of mine when you stay somewhere with tiny towels). The location is ideal to explore the area, we visited Dalby Forest twice and walked the beautiful coastal path between Ravenscar and Robin Hood Bay. Can’t wait to return to explore the area more. Lots of good pubs, restaurants and take aways.
Oh and our little dog has absolutely loved it 🐾

I have stayed at Pickering Cottage 3 times. It’s perfect location for seeing the sights. Easy to get to Whitby, Scarborough and Robin hoods bay. Pickering itself is lovely, plenty of shops and pubs!! We went on the Steam train into Whitby and got a free return. So we will be back to use this! The pub over the road is also great and not far to stumble back!
The cottage is clean, has everything you need and the beds are comfier than at home!
